THE STORY: five wildly mismatched aliens — Etno, Bud, Gorgious, Stereo and Candy — crash-land their ship on Earth and hole up inside a derelict old house while they scramble to get it flying again. Their plans go sideways when the cold, ruthless bounty hunter Bolok, sent by the sinister Dr. Sakarin, closes in to capture them for his own twisted purposes. Taking control of each alien in turn, you'll have to sneak around, scavenge for parts, and solve a long string of increasingly absurd puzzles across the house and the strange corners of Earth beyond it, all to repair the ship and get everyone off the planet before Bolok catches up.

THE REVIEW: the visuals here are stunning for their time, with gorgeous, fluid 3D animation that genuinely moves like a cartoon — and the Dreamcast version in particular runs noticeably smoother than I expected. I'm docking it down to a 4 mainly because there aren't many items to combine, which leaves some puzzles feeling a bit thin, and because it's often surprisingly hard to tell when you're about to die — some deaths come completely out of nowhere. That said, the characters are wonderful and the story is a genuine delight from start to finish.

4 STARS — GREAT!
